Fontaines, 2021

Fountains, 2021,  hand-carved oak wood, rubber band, glass bricks, various sizes, 2021

Each fountain or source taken is sealed in one of the glass bricks that once made up the stained glass windows to replace those of a destroyed chapel in Berlin.
These are presented on oak beams, carved into replicas of the bottles, to allow the perfect interlocking of wood and glass.
The installation of these is therefore infinitely flexible, but each brick is named from the source where its content has been taken.
Dry or inaccessible fountains are signified by the absence of water in the sculpture.
